Founded in 1853, The Charless Home has a longstanding reputation of excellence in providing quality care and services to the St. Louis senior community.
Located on a sprawling eight-acre campus, The Charless Home offers a complete spectrum of high-quality senior living options, which include Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, as well as Rehab and Therapy Care. Our residents find comfort in knowing all their needs can be met under one roof!
Levels of Care
Rehab and Therapy Care
Our newest level of service was the addition of Rehab and Therapy Care. In 2007, The Charless Home received its Medicare certification, completing our full continuum of care with the opening of a 14-bed Rehab & Therapy Center. The Charless Home can now help those who have recently been hospitalized by bridging the gap between hospital and home. Our Rehab & Therapy Center is focused on helping each resident attain their highest level of independence.
Our rehab and therapy team consists of full-time physical, occupational, and speech therapists. They are dedicated to providing quality care and services to the residents they serve. Medicare Part A benefits may be available for those who qualify.
In addition to Rehab and Therapy Care, we provide Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Long-Term Care.
Independent Living
Independent Living is also a recent addition to The Charless Home’s continuum of care. In June 2009, we began offering affordable suites ideal for the independent senior. In Independent Living, residents enjoy:
- Three meals each day
- Weekly housekeeping
- Bi-weekly laundry (for Independent Living residents only)
- Cable television
- Paid utilities (except for phone)
- Emergency pull cords
- Full activity calendar
- Group trips
- Transportation
- Beautiful chapel and courtyard
- Beauty salon
- Daily exercise class
- Comfortable parlors and sitting rooms
Residents have their choice of suites. Full-Bath, Half-Bath, and One-Bedroom suites are available.
Assisted Living
Assisted Living offers residents assistance with managing their daily activities while allowing them to remain independent and active. Assisted Living residents enjoy all amenities included in Independent Living plus:
- Certified Nursing Assistants on duty 24-hours a day, 7-days a week to help residents with bathing, dressing, hair care, oral care, nail care, and dining
- Certified Medication Technicians to administer medications
- Individualized service plans to ensure truly personalized care and assistance.
Our Assisted Living accommodations offer private, Full-Bath Suites with walk-in showers.
Skilled Nursing
Skilled Nursing provides 24/7 nursing care for residents who need regular monitoring of their health, as well as personalized support and assistance throughout the day. We have a total of 30 licensed beds; 14 beds are dedicated to Medicare-based Rehab and Therapy, and 16 beds are dedicated to Long-Term Care. This makes The Charless Home the most intimate skilled nursing facility within the Bethesda family, allowing a true collaborative and personalized approach to care. Our size naturally lends itself to establishing a close community where residents and staff come together as a family.
