One of fewer than 20 skilled nursing communities in Missouri accredited by the nationally prominent Joint Commission, Bethesda Dilworth creates an environment that values each person's social interests and hobbies.
Although it may be true that Bethesda Dilworth is the largest nursing home in St. Louis, those who live there (and with loved ones there) will tell you that residents are treated as individuals who are encouraged to form friendships, build self-esteem and be creative.
Our Creative Residents
One great example is the annual "One Woman Art Show," an exhibition featuring pieces of fine art created by one of our many talented residents. The community at large, as well as the Bethesda Dilworth community, attends the event each year purchasing nearly all of the displayed pieces of artwork. Our resident artist then reinvests the money earned into new art supplies for future shows.
Another example takes place every December, when the community is encouraged to visit the Bethesda Dilworth lobby for "Mall Mondays," at which time residents and staff show off their creativity through the holiday gifts they have made and make available to sell at this time.
Meeting Residents' Medical and Social Needs
Whether it?s taking a bus trip to see the Bethesda-sponsored "Winter Wonderland" holiday light spectacular at Tilles Park, completing a therapeutic art project or participating in a competitive game of Bingo, there are plenty of daily activities to keep a Bethesda Dilworth busy.
Special activities also fill the day in our Memory Care Unit, a dedicated area designed to meets the unique needs of our residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Here, residents have supervised access to a secure outdoor garden, comfortable common areas with scenic views, and specialized activities to improve their quality of life and celebrate their individuality.
Our medical director, Dr. Joseph Flaherty, can work with the resident's personal physician to offer medical treatment and rounding services.
Bethesda Dilworth is licensed for both Medicare and Medicaid beds. Our Administration will work diligently to make certain that every residents needs are met.
